Entei is a Fire-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation II along with Raikou and Suicune as Raid Boss. It is one of the Legendary beasts said to be resurrected by Ho-Oh after the burning of the Brass Tower. Out of the three beasts, Entei is said to represent the flames that burned the Brass Tower.

Entei is one of the Legendary Pokemon of Johto beast trio and in Pokemon Go it is a Tier 5 Legendary Raid Boss with a maximum CP of 41758.

Raid Boss Capture CP-ranges

  • 1900-1984 CP for a regular Level 20 encounter
  • 2375-2480 CP for a Sunny weather boosted encounter (Level 25)

  • Defence – 171
  • Stamina – 251
  • Max CP – 3473

As is the case of all Legendary Raid Bosses, it is not soloable.

Number of trainers Required:

  • 7-20 for low level players
  • 3-6 for high level players
  • 2 with maxed out counters, Best Friend Bonus, Partly Cloudy, Rainy, or Sunny Weather Boost.

Entei is a pure FIRE Pokemon, so list of counters available is big. Water, Rock and Ground-types of Pokemon can be used against it effectively.

In case of need do not have any of the above Pokemon then go for any Pokemon that has resistance to fire and access to either Stone Edge or Hydro Pump.

It is effectively a better Flareon, with access to a number of strong moves. It should be on your priority list as there’s a lot of Pokemon in future generations that can be countered by strong Fire types.

It has only access to FIRE type moves:

  • Fire Fang
  • Flamethrower
  • Fire Spin
  • Overheat
  • Fire Blast

Weak to three common elements: Water, Rock and Ground.

Few additional attackers:
