As Pokemon Go evolves and to keep player base interested, Niantic is adding more features at a fast pace. After announcing new features like “Catch bonus, when you earn medal” and “Easier Gym Battles”, a new feature has come to light after many players reported it on Reddit. You are now able to “obtain” a Pokemon entry in Pokedex when you face them in the gym. In other words, if you fight a Pokemon that you haven’t caught, your Pokedex will register it as seen!
Normally a Pokemon is registered as seen in your Pokedex when you encounter them in the wild.
It has received a mixed response from the community, as some feel it is unfair, others feel it fair, as you see them in the Gym it should be registered as seen.
Here’s how it works:
- When viewing or fighting a Gym, if there is a Pokemon that you haven’t seen yet, it will be registered as Seen to your Pokedex.
- It will be just added once in Seen.
- It will also add region exclusives as “Seen” in your Pokedex.
So what’s your take on this, do let us know in comments.
